The University of Colorado at Boulder is seeking candidates for two admission counselor positions to begin July 15, 2008.

Admissions counselors are expected to establish and maintain effective communications with constituents within the University, high schools, community colleges, and other agencies and organizations in order to successfully recruit and enroll an academically superior and diverse student population for the University of Colorado at Boulder. Responsibilities include extensive travel; presenting the university to a variety of audiences; personalized contact with students, parents, and counselors through meetings, phone conversations, and email/written correspondence; and participating in the admission decision process.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university prior to the start of employment; a valid driver's license; ability to work well with high school and college age students as well as racially and ethnically diverse populations; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; strong public speaking skills; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently as well as with a team; and familiarity with computing. Some evening and weekend work is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in an admission office at a collegiate institution; relevant work in counseling and other student-related activities, or in community organizations, secondary schools and educational agencies.

Salary range is $31,000-33,000 per year and will be commensurate with experience.
